@CoSoTips They eventually give themselves away as they invariably arrive at the point of asking for investment, money, etc.

Other sites want to sell you. They tell you as much in their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

They will tell you that they must.

We've spent over five years proving them wrong.

Be very careful out there.

The social landscape is full of grifters.

CounterSocial boasts a featureset that you will not find on any other social media site, and unlike them, treats safety and security like a sacred commitment to you.

Yes, you. Specifically.

It's been called the PBS of social media. Please consider going Pro if you can.

Alfred only works if your inquiry immediately follows a mention of his name.

No hard returns, no other mentions, no special characters.

@CoSoTips - here I disagree. Who you follow is important.
It's important to you.
Who you follow determines what you've determined is important for you to pay attention to, just as much as who you've muted or blocked

That being said: large follow counts, imo, means a lot of noise, but that's just me.
And followers means squat.

We are different here. We are an oasis here. Here, we are people, not a means to an end.

On CounterSocial, who you follow and who follows you is absolutely meaningless.

You read that right. Meaningless.

We have no algorithm. Follow who you want, or don't. There's no drama about this because again, we have no algorithm, and curating your own experience is how it's done here.

It's better this way.

Seasoned CounterSocial users will bookmark filter settings to adjust the content of their timelines on the fly.

Don't get mad. Set up a filter and make it disappear. It's up to you to curate your experience here.

Did you recently experience an uncomfortable topic that you'd rather not see? It's alright, it happens.

Lucky for you, CounterSocial gives you a means to FILTER it right of your timeline. You can even specify a length of time, from 30-minutes to Never.

^^^ One of the key reasons counter.social is not handing information on abortion seekers over to the authorities is mostly that we have no information to give. Because we only ask for the bare minimum when you register and we're not tracking your every move.

If you came here to troll this community, then we don't even have time to tell you what's going to happen to you. :trollsplat:

Did you know that you can create TEMPORARY filters to hide content that you'd like to avoid for a limited amount of time? It's true!

If you want questions to @Alfred to go away for a week, the power is yours.

When I joined CoSo back in November, the first thing that struck me was the sense of community.

It was like walking into a coffee shop full of good friends, the camaraderie was obvious.

To my amazement, I was welcomed right in. Before I knew it, someone offered me a seat at the table, asked if I'd tried the muffins, and commented on the book I was reading.

I share more of myself here than anywhere else, and I love what you share with me.

Thanks for taking me in! 😊 🐿️

CounterSocial is unique in the social media space. You are not a product to be sold. There are no ads, no bots, no trolls, and no high-profile grifters exploiting you for clicks, likes, and revenue.

We are a community of real individuals who are tired of being taken advantage of online. It's what we've been for over five years, and it's why most of us call this place home.

Our intrepid AI assistant Alfred has been getting upgrades, and that has made him everyone's new favorite toy. It was the same when he was first created, but you can make him go away.

1. Mute @Alfred
2. Add a whole-word filter for the term "@Alfred" (For best results, Drop instead of Hide.)
3. Double-check to make sure that your filter does not contain a space.

These steps should have your timelines free from both Alfred inquiries, and his awesome replies.

Filters can also be temporary, set to expire from "30 minutes" to "Never".

Use Filters if you'd rather not see queries made of our intrepid AI Alfred—or anything else that you'd rather not see.

Did you know that you can use the "Drop instead of Hide" setting on new filters to omit filtered results from your timeline without displaying the "Filtered" placeholder?

It's true!

Did you know that you could add gifs to your avatar and your profile banner? This is why I love CoSo. <3

If you would prefer to not see queries directed to our friendly AI virtual assistant, you can simply mute "Alfred" and add "@Alfred" to your filters.

There's no ambiguity in the CounterSocial Terms of Service. They've been consistently applied for over five years.

You should read them if you haven't, but they basically come down to a simple, easy-to-understand premise:

Don't be an a**hole.
