Folks, I gave an exam on the industrial revolution/ age of industrialization in the US and the first one I wanted to grade had this which I felt compelled to excerpt. There never was any hope.
The indoctrination starts so young.
"Give me a child until he is seven and I will show you the man"
by Saint Ignatius of Loyola or Aristotle (they can fight it out between themselves)

It is Loyola and the age was four or five, I believe, and yes the quote is sadly completely apropos
