There's a video going minor viral supposedly showing Haitians performing a baptism in a river.
This is an actual thing for MANY churches. Lake, river, ocean - pools and tubs. Immersion and open water baptisms are huge in Evangelical congregations. Like big special events.
It's all about the outrage, it doesn't even have to make sense anymore.

@Cosmichomicide My church school class spent an entire day once discussing why you could not chew the Eucharist. Cutting pieces to pieces and castigating the way the other people worship has been going on within competing churches since there were churches

Yah. Even my perfectly mainstream Methodist church held open water baptisms a couple of times a year as special offerings.
