All of the usual eating advice, but interestingly, every 10 grams of sugar consumed daily increases dementia risk 1.4%. That doesn't sound like much, until you consider the massive amounts of sugar in say, one coke is 38 grams.

@TheAbbotTrithemius
The amount of inflammation it sets up in my body is unbelievable. I don't do sugar. Only on special occasions.

@CinnamonGirlE

Do you count fructose (naturallty occurring sugar in fruits) as sugar to limit?

@TheAbbotTrithemius
I do eat fruit, but again, not unlimited. When I say no sugar, I mean processed. I eat very little processed anything.

@CinnamonGirlE @TheAbbotTrithemius

Likewise. The older I get the less hungry I am. Smaller portions on smaller plates.

@LnzyHou @TheAbbotTrithemius
Same. I have lost a lot of weight this past year doing just that. And moving.

@CinnamonGirlE @TheAbbotTrithemius

My doc was not happy when I saw her in Jan. Nor was I. When Abby was alive, we walked every day. After she died, it broke my heart to walk without her.

Doc ordered me to walk daily 20-30 min/day. I tried Keto which I didn’t like. Chose high protein, no refined sugar, very low carbs only in whole grains. Have not weighed myself but the weight is falling off.

@LnzyHou @TheAbbotTrithemius
Wonderful about the weight. Losing your baby and the grief the followed had to affect everything. I know it did me after my losses. I don't follow a specific plan. Just 100gms of protein and only "clean" foods. Non-processed. I walk also, but started hitting the gym to try and increase muscle mass this year. I am definitely stronger, so that's good.

@LnzyHou @TheAbbotTrithemius
That's where mine was worse. Honestly, hormones have helped me. The estrogen lends to tendon elasticity.

@CinnamonGirlE

Same here.i don’t really count fructose, just the tefined stuff.

@CinnamonGirlE

It was profoundly difficult to shop in Chocolate Fetish today and not have even a bite.

Sugar is such an addiction for me even a small piece would be like shooting up Heroin.

I will have good chocolate someday. Today was not that day.

@LnzyHou
I too, will reward myself from a small good piece of chocolate , dark, now and again. Of course you do, sister from another mother.

@CinnamonGirlE

Damn girl. We even love dark chocolate. We’ve got to do something about this.

@LnzyHou @CinnamonGirlE do you prefer them over French Broad chocolates?

@fuse @CinnamonGirlE

💯
