@jdtasker Yes. My great grandmother grew up in Ireland. She lived in a house built into the side of a hill and the roof was grass and hay for the goats. But... she also claimed to have heard the scream of a banshee.. so take it for what it's worth.

I am positive you could each add more words to describe your experiences here.

For me, it is a beloved island of sanity, bliss, and acceptance.

I am thankful to @th3j35t3r for creating this place and for all of you who inhabit this space.

May we have many more years of love and friendship.

Happy 7th Anniversary!

The other day I was imagining a sequence of events in my head (also known as daydreaming) and from inside my brain, behind my right ear a completely different voice called out, "Popcorn!"

No, I didn't want any popcorn. But it made me giggle a little that apparently my daydream was so good that someone wanted to watch it with snacks.

@th3j35t3r Thank you. I followed your steps the other day and it worked, even though I had to wait almost two hours to be allowed to make the handle changes.

Interestingly, today I went onto Twitter with my new empty account and the first three things on the feed were Musk, Alex Jones, and Rep Marsha Blackburn... but sure, the site is completely unbiased. LOL I immediately signed out and I don't foresee going back in.

I am happier without the noise of it all.

I just want to share that there is still beauty in the world.. perhaps we could or should focus on that while we heal.

Tonight at Owasco Lake, Auburn NY

One of my guiding principles.
(This quote is almost always misattributed to James Baldwin.)

Agreed. That and years of brainwashing to distrust anyone who might have a higher intellect or more education.

Racism and misogyny is strong in every race, every culture.

In 2016 many people voted for a man without doing their homework. This time they have no excuse. They knew what they were getting and they voted for it anyway. These next years will be dark.

There will be no grace of forgiveness from me. May a higher power have mercy, if its felt justified.

Instead I am keeping my love and hope alive for my children. It's all I have left and I am going to be extremely protective of my energy.

@Minholkin Thank you Min, that made my heart warm up and my smile turn bright.

As we enter the week of election anxiety here in the US (and for many people around the world) please remember to be kind to yourself. If necessary, shut off the news even as results are being aired. You have voted, knocked on doors, made cold calls and texts, donated time and money. There is nothing else you can do to alter the results.

The election results won't change who you are. But you can take care of you.

Know that you, who you are, matters to so very many. Thank you for being you.

It's an interesting divergence to watch..

Republicans who had no problem with Reagan creating and popularizing the demeaning trope of the welfare queen now needing to decide if Trump and his legions have carried Trump's own brands of dehumanization too far.

At what point it is too much? And why wasn't it too much at the beginning of Reagan's malicious callousness?
