My daughters got themselves a new puppy. Forget about teaching her tricks.. Chula has taken on new hobbies. 🤣
These are all real dog names taken from medieval sources (according to Kathleen Walker-Meikle for her book "Medieval Pets").
It is with a heavy heart that I bring the news that Vato was euthanized tonight at the age of 14. Though he was on seizure medication, the brain tumor caused a cluster of seizures tonight that lasted over 90 minutes.
But in his last few days, he spent a lot of time basking in the sun in his backyard. He slept with my daughter on her bed the past couple of nights, like two peas in a pod. He had time to snuggle and cuddle with all five of us. He died knowing he was loved. #DogsOfCoSo
Vato in his doggy stroller..
He turns 13 in March and he has trouble walking more than one block. This let's him still see the world.
Though he's now too old with his sore joints to enjoy the beach, Vato still loves the Outer Banks. He agrees that the yearly vacation is way too short.

This is Vato's look that means, "Hello, if I stare at you long enough from around the corner, will you please give me a treat?"
He's so funny!
Vato bathed and napping, completely unbothered about rain, wind, and tornado watch alerts.

Vato thanks you for his well wishes at the beginning of April and would like you all to know his surgery was successful. The ear tumor was burned out and with his haircut today, all the matted fur left after the surgery and no-flap-ear-wrap has been shaved, leaving him looking particularly handsome. He does need to lose 5 lbs, but really.. Don't we all?
What's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?
