This Valentine's Day.. for the girl who has everything.. You are welcome.

I find it hilarious that at the onset of deciding colleges, my parents sat down my brothers and I and said we had two choices.. engineering or education (teaching). Brothers.. computer engineering.. mechanical engineering.. chemistry teacher. Youngest became a lawyer. I started out in education and switched to journalism. (Art was out of the question despite the fact I paid my own tuition.)

Now my mom posts memes about how college is unnecessary and we should encourage trade jobs. 🙄

@phase It sucks that you or anyone need be subjected to willful ignorance and blind hatred. It is so easy to fall into the idea that people suck, but I am happy you see the good in others. 🤗

@LnzyHou Certainly.. I'm 54 and haven't yet. But I also never thought of it in this way before. Perhaps knowing this perspective can help change my thoughts.

@CJLavoie Similarly, I read about a musician who wrote beautiful music and lyrics while depressed. He said it was the worst to get on stage and perform night after night because it just reinforced the negativity. He got to the point he feared for his own life.

He has since changed his direction and won't play the older stuff anymore. (Please don't ask who the musician is because I don't remember.)
