@ContentWarningVirusB42 Same. Every person turns to something for comfort or support when they ask the tough questions of "Why are I here?" or "Why did that happen?" Every person searches for value in their lives as they try to be a better person, make the world a better place.
Granted I think some takes are a little fucked up.. but I am sure people say that about my choices as well.
I don't often talk of religion here. But this topic, "Why does God let bad things happen?", often comes up as a reason why some choose not to believe. More, the words, "part of God's plan.." are often misused as comfort.
I am offering this video by Catholic priest Fr. Mike Schmitz. Granted it is not for everyone, but may be what is needed by someone.

@InvaderGzim It doesn't even address the fact of limited job availability for people over age 55 (never mind 65!) I think we have all known someone or been someone who has been nefariously replaced by a younger worker. And there are only so many Walmart Greeter jobs available.
Look at your feet. You are standing in the sky. When we think of the sky, we tend to look up, but the sky actually begins at the earth. We walk through it, yell into it, rake leaves, wash the dog, and drive cars in it. We breathe it deep within us. With every breath, we inhale millions of molecules of sky, heat them briefly, and then exhale them back into the world.

Innocence is a relic of a time when women had the same legal status as children. Innocence is beneficial to your owner. It benefits you not at all.
