Anyone.. anyone..
Best routers for 2-story home, approx 2300 SF, where the router is on first floor and still needs to reach a laptop on the second floor, other side of house (60 feet)???
Our internet speed is 300 Mbps download, 30 Mbps upload, 7-9 devices.
Price is a concern, please do not recommend the $500-$800 models.

You could try extenders. Cheaper alternative
I have 3-story house, Wi-Fi router (it's a combo modem-router) on top floor, often work in basement at opposite corner. This was $160 2 years ago: NETGEAR C6300 AC1750 CABLE MODEM
Our speed is 450 Mbps down, 18 up, 5+ devices - - tho of course speed is slower at distance (still over 140 Mbps)

TP-Link AC1900 Smart WiFi Router (Archer A8) I bought for my apartment and for my mom. Her house is taller. Basement plus 3 floors. No extender. $80 on Amazon, newer version most likely available. Signal is good top to bottom reaches front and back yard. Bonus, it reaches to the street and I can troubleshoot from the car using my cellphone if she needs help.
I have on the past always recommended the eero to the non technical folks, because it’s is cheap. And dead simple to set up.
All you need is the pro router, and one mesh beacon, should run under $140.
There are a lot of mesh systems out there, but the eero is the easiest to set up and use.
@corlin @ChippySuave I have eero devices and I also recommend them. 10/10

don’t take any advice from me...this is a really good result on my line.
