@Gramdma2011 Good morning. It's just the initial mad rush. Things will settle and be restocked. 😀
@EileenKCarpenter @Gramdma2011 I would not put it past companies to capitalize. But I think it's more that people are scared they can't leave the house. Fears of getting quarantined for 14 days, either by knowing someone sick, or getting sick oneself. What do you do if you run out of TP?
By stocking up, people experience a sense of control which can help diminish the overall feeling of helplessness.
I think it also acknowledges the lack of credibility coming from this administration.
@ChippySuave @EileenKCarpenter The Media is fueling this rush as well imo. Constant incessant reporting on it only adds to the madness. Soap & water will clean hands/bottoms just as well, if not better than sanitizer &🧻; folks, stock up on SOAP, any kind! And washcloths; you can wash/re-use & save 🧻$'s for food, gas, & meds instead!
@ChippySuave I haven't needed to buy any for awhile; we buy the 2-ply double roll 4 packs. Just 2 of us & we wash our bottoms regularly w/rags(CNA remembered thing; used on patients; cleaner than🧻; wash/dry thoroughly).
@ChippySuave @Gramdma2011
I was pondering this inexplicable mass hysteria, and how people got the idea that they need to stock up on toilet paper. Then I thought, “cui bono?” Who makes toilet paper?
Koch Industries
Would they be so avaricious as to post videos of empty shelves to start a trend? Hard to imagine that no company thought about marketing their products that way, and they’re as likely as any.
