Good people of CoSo.. Question..
I've noticed a shift with increased anger and I wonder if this place will continue to be a safe zone. I have found I have had to mute and block more people in the past few months than the whole first year.
I have also noticed the numbers who participate dwindling. I don't know what to do to stop this other than keeping posting love notes.
Yet the love notes seem to fail compared to the escalating anger.
Should I and others like me just give up?
I've pondered the same thing with other 'nauts. Those of us who were here early remember how nice and non-confrontational it was. When the rapid growth began, it was bound to change. It's how life goes and grows. We're in a heated time for sure, at some point things will start to move in another direction. People have quoted Buce Lee here before, "be like water"
Which is not to say that you shouldn't be yourself. You are a happy, loving person. Stay that way.

It is probably going to get a bit worse, in the near term. I am also using mute more often. But that is not a problem, it is a feature, not a bug.
I will try very hard to keep this place safe from personal attracts, hate filled screeds.
Yes keep posting love notes....It helps.

I think a lot of people are feeling anger because of the policies of this administration, from inhuman treatment of immigrants and their children, to environmental policies as well as the racist statements of this President who seems to radicalize hate and spur racial violence.
Personally, although I try to reign in my anger and be measured, I know my anger is masking an ocean of sadness for this country. It’s so much easier for me to feel anger than pain and hurt.

@ChippySuave - this is a tough time, but it shall pass. Mute the worst accounts, use filters, and enjoy the company you *do* keep around. But don't change who you are, even if that means you mute me.

@ChippySuave Because of my work schedule, I tend to lurk and just leave likes more than I actually post, but I try to like the toots with love or with interesting/fun info as an encouragement for that sort of thing. I think that with more people, there will be more clashes, but there will also be more clustering of users based on shared interests. More like separate rooms in a clubhouse instead of one big living room. Muting more will help and maybe is necessary now

@ChippySuave I noticed it too and I’ve dumped my anger here I blocked someone for a little bit and then unblocked them because I’m not going to live online in another Social Media Hell. If we can’t resist the triggers being thrown at us we’re done.
@ChippySuave I'm not on here constantly. I have a life outside of here... but I'm still here. You are not responsible for how people respond to things out of your control. When the crowd grows, it is inevitable you will encounter someone that doesn't have as sunny of an outlook that you would possess. Keep doing what you're doing I say. Peace, Love, and Gratitude over War, Hate, and Exploitation... always.

I haven't been online much because life stuff, but I check in as often as I can.
