Monopolies have a stranglehold on the best-quality Internet in Canada — AKA fibre. We have 1 WEEK to tell the CRTC to force Big Telecom to open their fibre to independent providers. Will you speak up? openmedia.org/fast-em

Vancouver Island just had a 6.0 earthquake!

Another distinguished member of the Gross Old Perverts Party. Wtf? Do these guys have their own massive child sex trafficking ring? 🤬

It would seem that Republicans no longer see courts as venues for enforcing existing laws against people who break them; instead, they see them as tools by which their political enemies can be punished. The existence of a real law and a violation of it is irrelevant; some general claim that something objectionable was done can always be advanced, but one can always invent laws. What's really important isn't the law but the fact that someone challenged their hegemony.

@DJNoneYa I want them to do it because the lower prices get pushed the better.

I also don’t know if Tesla can pull it off. And if they are doing a lot of sourcing from China I see that backfiring as most other NA auto makers will be doing almost everything within the US, Canada and Mexico and anti-China sentiment could very well hurt them.

I don’t really care if Tesla is successful or not. Once they make a nearly affordable car their job is done.

- This is a
story that fossil fuel billionaires and their GOP lackeys would rather you didn’t know. -

- As more and more people are killed by extraordinarily severe weather in places where it used to be unusual it’s going to get harder and harder to keep Red State citizens from finding out how badly they’ve been screwed by the unholy alliance between Republicans and oil barons. -

All you need to know is the source. If it comes from National Post, it's not worth the electrons used to transmit this dross.

Drivers who leave 15 feet in front of them while in the drive through line are the worst.

I found this handy site for any Americans here who only want to give their business to unionized Starbucks. It seems to be updated on a fairly regular basis as well.

I don’t see a similar resource for Canada (in part because there aren’t that many unionized Starbucks yet). I will post one if I come across one (or get the time to do one up myself).

@Cdn_Skeptic_Wm and there is an easy solution. Tax the rich. The 2023 budget covered rising deficits by specifically taxing the rich and large corporations. So it is, even if it’s starting off slow, being done.

Canada is also a growing country in the early/days of an economic transition. The cost of running a country will naturally rise.

I don’t really like the Liberals, but their ‘numbers’ are completely fine

This is our Second recorded tornado, the first one was in 1983.

So what. After the years of Conservative cuts to programs to give the wealthy more of our money, it's about time.

I congratulated Trump on Twitter for being number one

@TheEngrumpled

Hey @realDonaldTrump you're number one. That is, the very first former American president to be indicted. Soon you will be the first one sent to prison.

Just a reminder that the whole QAnon movement existed to tell right-wing fanatics that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and everybody else they don't like was going to be indicted Any Moment Now and Q was dropping the secret sauce breadcrumbs that would lead the Qballs to the Awakening, which is Q slang for fascist dictatorship.

Their targets: Not indicted.

Them: Quite frequently indicted. Or even "indicated."
