Feeling bad about the US #election Here's something to give you strength. These trees live in #Hiroshima, a stronghold of Jodo Shinshu #Buddhism. They were hit by the atomic bomb but survived. Out of respect, their temples left them in place and rebuilt around them. They have weathered the worst that humanity has ever done, and continue to proclaim their beauty. First up is Anrakuji, where the temple gate has been built around the survivor tree rather than trimming it. #Buddhist #environment

@kel I feel like if you were able to vote but chose not to, that still lumps you in the asshole category, but I wonder how many people had their votes rejected, lost, or burned up in all the shenanigans? Are all those people really apathetic non-voters?

@LindaWisner I hope so. Right now it's like trying to take off a really big really sticky bandaid. Like I know I've got to just rip it off but I also know it's gonna hurt like hell for a hot minute.
@finkled I met so many amazing creators on that stupid site and it helped me get through some really rough times. I'm definitely in the denial stage of grief with it.

I'm in the process of deleting my bird account, double checking that I've saved any art that I might not have stored somewhere else, and it's both cathartic and heartwrenching.
It's a complete hellhole now, but I have so many good memories from the before times.
