@JoyfullyDazed my unpopular opinion, Van Halen III is a good Rock album, but it is a mature album musically and lyrically not much different than Sammy. It’s kinda’ Ed’s instrumental album, but with singing and breaking the Pop formula.
@JoyfullyDazed @InUnfunky ooooh what could that song be? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-KTXuqNyTAI&pp=ygUVZGF2aWQgbGVlIHJvdGggc291bmRz
Yeah, Diamond Dave is “unique”, but his VH era is my favorite too.
That wasn't a dare, Canis. 🤨😝😂
The original, so hopefully I’ll dodge a bullet…😏
Good dodge, Ex. 👍😎
(adds to collection 😎)
A GIF war of XOXOs? Cuz I’ve been chastened. ❤️😉❤️

I 100% approve of the above comment.
I saw them in 1984 and was at "Stop shoving your spandex covered cock in my face."
@Bix @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
Saw 'em in '86 and fortunately Hagar wasn't doing any of that. 🤓
CP — do you mean the “III” with the Chippendales Masshole? 🤔😱😉🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed DLR was an ass shaker long before Extreme was a glimmer in Nuno’s eyes. I listen with my ears, not my eyes.
@CanisPundit @InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed
Jumping on the VH train, I always loved Fair Warning.

Oh, Bixie! One of my faves, too! 😱❤️😂
The Bungle fellas (covid-era, in the Eureka public library) seem to prefer “Women And Children First.” I do hope that CP hasn’t seen this one, yet. 😏 NTM the ex. 🤣
I'm not sure I agree with this choice, Bixie. 🤔🙃
@JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit @InUnfunky
No problem. I like this one before we are adding in 80's hair metal era stuff.
Bix, my biggest rock rule is, if it has Eddie in it, I love it.
@Bix @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
Similarly to the ex, I like all of the VH platters up to bits and pieces of both "OU812" and the "Poundcake" album. It was at that point (early '91) that I was overwhelmed by "alternative," grunge, and funk rock, THEN Zappa cultdom so "my tastes changed" irrevocably and thus was rendered unable to appreciate some AOR. Plus Gary Cherone. 😜
I fully admit this is prejudicial and a potentially mistaken bias, however is also subject to change. 🙄 🤓
@InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
I go from:
Brill Building pop is the greatest
to
Curtis Mayfield is the greatest
to
The Stooges are the greatest.
@Bix @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
Bixie prefers the earlier, more punk Curtis.
@InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
I prefer the version on Curtis Live.
I listen with my ears, not my eyes, too. Except when Eddie or Steven Tyler are preforming, then both senses are absolutely necessary.
@CanisPundit
I love the Roth days of VH, but I enjoy the Sammy days more. Admittedly, I can't stand Roth. His ego and tendency to hog the camera used to piss me off. Dude, get the fuck out of the way, I'm here to watch the guy with the guitar.
But, that will never mean I don't enjoy all VH music. I do. (Well, except for one song...) @InUnfunky 😝
