I just learned that a friend of mine who had partial deafness with Covid has permanent partial deafness. It’s a documented thing. And yes, she was fully vaccinated. Reminder: Vaccination may not prevent contracting Covid, but only make it less severe.

@CanisPundit Oh no! 😳 This is awful. I know Covid does impact people's nervous systems in various ways. I'm sorry about your friend, that sucks.

@janallmac thanks. The breadth of Covid’s potential harm is stunning and we’re in a short term view. Years from now we’ll see what might develop as a consequence of infection. Ex. Incidence of cancers from Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). 90% (or more from another study I’ve read) of world population gets EBV; some asymptomatic never knowing. Some studies note a correlation between Covid & EBV reactivation. Long Covid for some may be concurrent EBV.

My good friend had a mysterious attack that had many similarities to Multiple Sclerosis. Because it was related to her nervous system, I wonder if it too may have had something to do with Covid? I don't know, of course. It is apparently not MS, at any rate, and the doctors cannot quite figure out what caused it. It occurred a few months after her family had Covid.
