Looking for ideas:

We have a lot of plastic Tupperware type stuff we don't use since we became more aware of its impact on our health as well as the environment. We've switched to glass for leftovers/produce and glass or paper for packed lunches.

My problem is what to do with all that plastic? Throw it out? That's a mess waiting to happen. Recycle it? That's turned out to be a joke. Most items, especially plastics, turned over to be recycled end up in landfill.

@gemswinc

I thought of that, but I don't feel good about donating something that will likely impact someone else's health and then end up as landfill anyway.

@BrazenlyLiberal But folks will use it, not everyone has the luxury to care about purity

@gemswinc

I hear you, but it's not about purity. It's about not knowingly making people sick - especially people whose lack of resources may already be resulting in inadequate health care.

@BrazenlyLiberal What I have finally learned, and wish I'd learned long ago, is that everything you buy you are forever responsible for. I wish you luck in determining the best way to discard.
