I believe that Kamala Harris is perfect for the times not just because she's immensely qualified (tho she certainly is), but also because we need someone like her.
Every so often, the ugly builds up to a point Americans just can't take anymore. We look for someone who seems to come out of it clean and bright and hopeful. Someone with a genuine smile, someone truly at ease in their own skin. That's when Dems take it all.
