Read the patient insert that comes with your prescription meds.

A few days ago, I suddenly lost most of my hearing & some of my ability to speak. It's mostly back now, but that was frightening while it lasted.

Fortunately, we had read the info on azrithomycin, so we realized pretty quickly that was the culprit got doc's okay to stop taking it.

Read the long, tedious, oh my god it never ends patient insert. Know what to watch for.

End of lecture. 😘

@BrazenlyLiberal I ended up almost dying from an antibiotic last year. It was one I'd taken a few times before w/no problems. I don't know what was different this time (manufacturing quality?) - but I didn't know I could end up in an ambulance because of an antibiotic.
I don't take anything now without knowing details. I was angry my Dr. didn't warn me.

@BirdsAreCool How awful! Tbh, no doctor has ever really explained to me what to watch for. It's ridiculous.

@BrazenlyLiberal I think they depend on an overworked, underpaid, pharmacy tech to explain meds to ppl.😏
