“ Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) compared Democrats and left-leaning liberals to “wolves” who must be shot dead and gardeners who have poisoned American soil in his foreword to Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America, a book written by Kevin Roberts. Roberts uses similarly violent and dehumanizing imagery in his book.”

Inside Vance are two wolves. Both are stupid and weird.

i really like all critters, except most bugs. Fireflies, butterflies, damsel & dragon flies, preying mantis & non-biting lady bugs. (sorry if I missed any good ones)

Wait - is there a lady bug that bites?

Got any ant lion fans out there?

@ATXJane all ladybugs can bite they just choose not to. Or at least that is how it was told to me by my bug friends. @Gladari @feloneouscat

@scottyorange @ATXJane @Gladari @feloneouscat Ordinarily they don’t. But when they swarm on mountain tops they absolutely will try to feast on you. Seen it twice, in different states.

@QueenOfEverything @scottyorange @ATXJane @Gladari @feloneouscat I see plenty of references to ladybug swarms. There’s even a collective noun, a “loveliness”.

No... there is a lot of misconception about the difference between the Ladybug and the Asian Lady Beetle.

It's the Asian Lady Beetle that swarm in large numbers... particularly when the the weather is getting cold.

Lady Beetles are the ones that try and get into your house- Ladybugs do not go inside.

Lady Beetles also have a musty odor- when a swarm is around you can smell them.

Okay... found the video I was looking for... here's the LADYBUG SWARM- they all flock to the forest, mate and hang out for the winter.

The ASIAN LADY BEETLES all swarm to get inside houses, garages, whatever shelter will protect them through the winter. I had a whole swarm living in the basement of a log cabin I lived in in Virginia. Very creepy. Sealed up the basement so they couldn't get in upstairs.

Yes! We've had them in our utility shed. The worst was piled up in all of the rubber door gaskets in our 4 door car! When you open the car door, there's a grooved rubber gasket at the top, and those were filled with lady bugs! Creepy! Some would fall on you when you opened the door to get in or out! 🐞
