In my federal government career, I've worked in a group of Five Eyes (FVEY) countries (US, UK, NZ, Can, & Oz) - our system here is a joke that we can't keep Russia out of our halls of power.
Now, my country will support Russia - just a joke of what we should stand for.

Well, if the Dems can't do a better a job of fighting corruption WHEN THEY ARE RUNNING the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, then I am at "f**k them."

The problem is laid out clearly enough, but the answer is "liberals must do something" which is not at all helpful and is kind of why we are where we are. I've been hearing SOMEBODY MUST DO THING!!! for years but that's not a plan. Do what? Where does the money come from? If the idea is a liberal news channel, how do you market it to new people? And, in a neo-authoritarian country, how do you keep it from being choked by fines and lawsuits and laws designed to kill it?
