She DID show up and help out while my wife was undergoing surgery and recovery at home. Yes, she ate us out of house and home, but she showed up.

OTOH, she just went to see the MAGAt movie "Sound of Freedom", and she's badgering my wife to donate money to a "go fund me" she's set up for the guy that made the movie. The woman is a lunatic.

My wife feels uncomfortable even talking to her now.

I stopped for gas at a new place today--dire need prompted the mini-adventure.

The pump had a screen that activated with the nozzle--rather than trying to sell me something, or giving me infotainment, it showed a series of short videos of people in loving encounters with their pets.

Just a few minutes of love and happiness.

It is the fact that the lag between surface air temperature and the total mass ocean heat index runs about 20 to 30 years. As far as heat the ocean is acting like it's 1995. It is just now beginning to warm up. If a miracle happened and we put zero carbon dioxide into the atmosphere tomorrow, and form then on, it would take 20 years for the ocean to notice. For the next 20 years the total mass ocean heat index would continue to rise rapidly.

BUT:

There is two tiered justice: the rich who get lawyers and the poor who do not.
