When the MAC address exists on two different connected VLANs, and creates a loop, why oh why is the default action to close the entire port group?

A failover test just took down all the services in the DMZ, ticket system, exchange, dynamics, citrix..

No more failover testing until Tuesday!

@Idrake This is why I had a big sign in my server room: IF IT'S FRIDAY, DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING

@Hobyrim @AskNick during our end of week infrastructure team meeting.. my peer in the UK.. let's call him Raj.. said "I hope you all have a quiet day." And the 16 other people on the call basically lost their shit (jokingly) at him.

This is AFTER he admitted to never seeing Star Wars.

Let's just say, Raj is gonna catch shit next week!

@Idrake If you can remote into Raj's desktop, you don't have to wait until next week to start giving him shit.

@AskNick thing is, we had been doing failover testing paat few days, never had a incident like that. It is impressive how duplicating a MAC took down the FTD.
