@BenA I guess y'all will start throwing rotten tomatoes at me, but I say go get a tetanus shot and also go to the doctor or get antibiotics from somewhere. And hurry up about it.

@VelvetDuchess Trump can't stand not to be controlling people, especially women. He doesn't need more time. He just wants to make her do as he says.

@kel Are you saying that cilantro tastes like soap? If so, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. In fact, one taste of anything with cilantro in it makes me have to fight to keep my dinner down.

@VanontheBorder It irks me that the public officials who rile up people like him will never be punished. Neither will the public officials who work hard to make sure America's mass murderers are the best armed in the world. (I got the idea about American's mass murderers being the best armed in the world from Lawrence O'Donnell.) Because of the cowardly Republican Party, America looks like a country populated with lunatics.

@Keep_Real If you post about it on social media, yes. But you have to include images and there is a deadline.

@BetweenYellowLinesBack then, there were quite a few people who thought it was a joke that anyone preferred the words "women and men" to "men" when talking about all of us. Some of us didn't want to settle for simple.
There is no reason for anyone not to choose the pronouns they prefer instead of the pronouns you choose for them just so you can have comfortable simplicity.

@BetweenYellowLines I was more verbose than this site allows, so I had to split my response into more than one post. Here's more of it.

Back in the day, we girls were told that it when some written work said "men" we shouldn't necessarily take it literally. It often meant "men and woman." Today, I noticed that people write and say "men and women" or "women and men." Woke.

@BetweenYellowLines There are people who want and need things to be simple, but that doesn't make things simple. I think it could be simple to just accept others, pronouns and all. We don't have to understand it to just accept it.
The opposite of woke is asleep or snoozing or dozing, not fully aware. I prefer being woke to not being fully aware. We used to refer to it as having our consciousness raised. And when that happens, life gets more complicated. I can't go back to simple.

@lymphonerd It turned out it wasn't NYT Wordle that rejected "track." It was a different site. That cheers me up.

@Nerdsleaze If you send someone home with work to do, how can you possibly know who really did it? And it just makes more work for the teacher to grade a bunch of work that could have been done by a family member or copied from a friend.
It's supposed to teach them to be responsible or some such thing. How about be responsible for your own time when school is over for the day? How about be responsible for finishing on time?

@Nerdsleaze Wow! I'm totally against homework. I am a retired teacher. I never assigned homework. Then the principal said we had to assign homework. I told the kids the assignment was to read something, anything they wanted and spend a very few minutes studying multiplication facts. Nothing to turn in. We did all our work in class then went home to our families.
I hope you're not just joking about this.

@lymphonerd I'm going to guess "track" again tomorrow. Now I wonder how many words are not on the list.

@lymphonerd One of my guesses was "track." I was informed that "track" was "not on the word list." I tried several times with the same result. I decided I had lost my mind because I believed it was a word. So I looked it up in the dictionary and am happy to report that "track" is really a word. Why Wordle doesn't accept if makes no sense to me.

@Maude @Pat_Walrond @VelvetDuchess Yes, it will have the same result as an acquittal, and Trump and his cult followers will tout it as an acquittal.

@Maude @VelvetDuchess @Pat_Walrond I think if the jury can't all agree, it's a hung jury, not acquittal. I think with a hung jury, there can be another trial if the prosecutor wants it. Admittedly, I could be wrong. I was wrong once before. (That last sentence was a joke, and we all know jokes are much better when you have to explain them.)

@GaryPoole Oatmeal cookies sound nutritional. Just a little heavy on the sugar. But they have eggs.

@grrlscientist I think I'll stay in my red state so I can be richer, healthier and better educated than the average citizen.
Of course, when one of the crazies shoots me, I'll be just as dead as the other people who were shot dead.
That thought is fixing to fester.

@Bix Read up on the prep school she attended. Special schools in the South so white would not have to go to segregated schools. Eventually, they allowed in a few special black kids they deemed suitable. The kind who were not trying to make trouble. I don't think she attended as a person of color. She was accepted as white since she wasn't noticeably black.

@Bix I guess little Nikki led a sheltered life as her parents failed to mention South Carolina's Jim Crow. I have lived in South Carolina. I can't believe that even a person of her mere 51 years never noticed the racism in South Carolina where she grew up in those easy times. As for her being a person of color, I'm betting very few people realized that until she started claiming that status as a politician.
