@Apocryphiliac I can't stomach most horror movies anymore, but when I was little I used to love the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Conversely, I absolutely cannot handle movies like Puppet Master or Leprechaun.

@Apocryphiliac fun story -- my high school boyfriend met Englund's wife somehow, and made a request to her and was able to get signed photos for me as a birthday gift!

@Apocryphiliac

nightmare on elm st

does scream count? cuz those are pretty good...lil meta tho...

@opie As far as performances, Robert as Freddy is the best, imo, along with Tony Todd as Candyman. 👍

Scream counts, too, for sure. Another great franchise.

@nursefrombirth Yea! Pts. 2 & 3 don’t get near enough attention!

@thedisasterautist I don’t think about the Psycho series enough… An all-time great first film and two great sequels.

@Apocryphiliac I'm a Scream fan for life. I didn't get into horror until I was in my mid-20s because I was honestly a chicken. At this point very little scares me any more and Scream movies aren't scary but I just LOVE the awareness of them? Controversial but I loved Scream 4 the most. When I saw Scream (2022) at the cinemas I was the only person there and it was MONTHS before I had anyone to share my complete 😭😭😭 with. I'm still a bit broken from it.

Anyways... Scream. I love Scream 😂

@silhouettic I love Scream 1-4. I’m not sure what the consensus is on the whole series, but pt. 4 was really good, imo. I liked, but didn’t love the newest one, but maybe it’ll grow on me.

@Apocryphiliac I think my love will only stretch as far as 5 with 6 removing Sidney (I mean, they refused to pay her properly so I'm not upset that she told them to get fucked), but I'm going to try and hold judgement until I see it. I think the new director did a brilliant job of capturing Wes Craven's humour and style though, and I genuinely did not see the death of [redacted] coming. Ugh, even thinking about it makes me teary.

@silhouettic Yeah, like I said, I felt it was good, but not enough Sidney + it felt like a bit of a retread of 4 made it my least favorite of the series. *That* scene got me, too, though.

@Apocryphiliac It's probably a "90s kid" thing, but Scream is only slasher franchise I've ever felt compelled to revisit.
