On my way to *perhaps* sell this car.
Tire blown. Front bumper shredded. Resale value creamed, I’m sure.
This is my luck.
@Apocryphiliac damn. Good luck 🤞🏼
@Apocryphiliac Ouch!! Sorry for your resale value but glad you weren't involved in an injury accident because of this!
Oh, that's so frustrating.
@Apocryphiliac That is terrible! Hope you (and everyone else) are okay.
@Apocryphiliac There is an upside here.
New front tires will help the re-sale value a bit, and the bumper cover is fairly cheap from a junkyard, they might even have the right color in stock.
The upside? You didn't wreck/get hurt and It didn't happen right after the sale.
@Render You're right... I got a rough estimate and they told me that the damage would cost around $3,000 to fix, but with my insurance deductible, I should be able to come off having to pay about half of that.
The issue is that I needed that money to move in 2 weeks... and it seems unlikely that I'll be able to get everything turned around by then, so I'm kind of in trouble... but that's another story. No loss of life or limb...
I see the make but not the model or year of car so I'm just guessing on the latter two but...
A rough estimate for parts alone is about $80 (for a new unpainted bumper cover) and between $50 and $75 each for the tires (depending on quality).
The rest of that $3,000 is labor.
@Render Woof. Well I guess we will see what the adjuster says... It's a Honda Civic, btw. 😉 I know, "fancy," right? 😆
@Apocryphiliac Good basic transportation cars. I got the Civic part right. Guessed a 2005ish.
@Render 2012, actually. Was like a luxury car to me when I bought it 11 years ago. I was over the moon to have a brand new car!
@Apocryphiliac Oh noooo Apo!! 😔
@Apocryphiliac damn
