Despite this album cover, the band Semantics does not sound like a bad metal band or like Meat Loaf. I'd call them much closer to The Goo Goo Dolls.

It's a good album.

As promised, here is the blog version of Radio Free California Episode 2447. Has the same Spotify playlist, but also notes about my little private radio station and what we're playing this week. No cheap shots. I'm not in the mood anymore.

With the exception of one show, we play nothing but new music at Radio Free California, often from artists you've never heard of but certainly deserve more attention.

I was never really a fan of Linkin Park in their original heydey, when Chester was alive. I didn't find them offensive or anything, it just wasn't for me. Chester's death was a gut punch though.

But their new album, with their new singer, is pretty damned good. I especially like the song "Two Faced", which is the current single, but the whole album is worth the time.

I like this new incarnation of Linkin Park better than the old one.

Um wow......

Lots of reissues and crap out this week but in the far corner is St. Vincent - releasing her album All Born Screaming, which came out a few weeks back, but in Spanish.

Silverlites, "Don't Go, Don't Stay"

Joseph Arthur ("Honey and the Moon")
Peter Buck (R.E.M.)
Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees)
Rich Robinson (Black Crowes)

Sounds as good as you think it would.

My new project. Yes, it's odd for me. A sampling of the music can be heard on the site.

Stay through the credits. Trust me.

Once again, Randy Rainbow knocks it out of the park. Be sure to note the song within a song towards the end.

"Magadu" - a Randy Rainbow parody set the the tune of "Xanadu" by Olivia Newton-John and ELO, with another song buried inside. You'll notice it - especially if you're about my age. 😂

As usual, here is the blog version of Radio Free California Episode 2444, which includes the same playlist but also programming notes about various shows on my internet radio station, my own opinions in very unclean language (TDLR: Nazi = bad), cheap shots at the day's news and more. Enjoy!

Are the Black Keys even capable of NOT recording the drums so loud that they clip?

They're a good band when they want to be, and the new single has Alice Cooper so you'd think we'd have something solid but those fucking drums.

I don't like it, but I recognize that I'm in the minority. So here you go: The Black Keys with Alice Cooper with "Stay In Your Grave"
