@Razdawg22 I have a family member who works for a government organization in DC. Without getting too much into detail, when any part of the government (White House, Congress, DOJ, whatever...) needs statistical data they call their group to assemble it.
She said yesterday (approximately) "What kind of job will I have with an administration that doesn't care about facts or statistics?"
It's so sad.
We're seeing a lot of good guides posted on how to do things like get your id and paperwork in order, what trans people need to do to prepare and stay safe, how to interact with authorities, etc... I'm thinking it's now about time for someone to make a guide for people who don't know how to do this. Protect their digital assets as best as possible.

Our household no longer uses cloud services. We have our own cloud box in our basement that we control.
That box can connect to other people's boxes that have their own setup as well.
I don't connect to the suspicious federations that @th3j35t3r doesn't, for similar reasons. But I can connect and share with other people using similar software.
Consider taking your stuff out of big tech, where it can be rifled through by government thugs.
I maintain a small headless linux server in a foreign country not run by a major cloud carrier. Just in case.
I have two friends who are trans, and while we live in a blue state as well they've both talked about their anxiety and fear.

I used to do this every month but I got lax. It's more important now with recent changes in the world.
#CoSo is free. But things like computing, storage, bandwidth, etc... take money. It doesn't have ad revenue or an algorithm to force-feed you sponsored content. And that's pretty great.
Not everyone can pitch in and there's no judgement there. Just keep being great. But those of us who can you should consider going #CoSoPro.
Other social media sites have proven they won't do what we do here.
