Jesus, I'm looking back at the videos of that season of Celebrity Big Brother and it's horrendous.
Other seasons might've been just as bad, but I haven't really watched more than a few eps of Season 1, then it became apparent that things were engineered to create conflict for the sake of "good tv".
Forcing people into a confined space, with a single bed for an unspecified period of time, especially when you have no idea whether they've experienced abusive situations in the past, that's abuse
Long story, YouTube rabbithole etc, but... I just came across this cover of Pretty Vacant by Lady Sovereign.
I'm not a fan but... there's the seed of *something* there. It's kinda buried, mainly under repeated soundclips, but this could've been pretty good

I can only sing properly when I'm singing along to something at stupidly high volume levels.
That makes #homerecording kinda difficult.
I have SO MANY tracks which are staying instrumantal until I manage to get over that...

Bit more playing around with my Zarch/Lander #Unity project.
Having some issues getting particle collisions to work so you can't shoot anything, but regular collisions work and ramming into stuff is kinda fun when there's a big explosion:)
Plus I figured out reflections so the ship is now 184.7% shinier.*
*which you can't see 'cos it turns out I uploaded the low-res version. Just imagine it shining like a mfer though
Think I'm starting to wrap my head around state graphs and transitions and whatnot in #Unity now. I've actually got bits of the enemy AI working how it should - not the whole thing yet, but it's nice being able to have behaviour broken up into independent bits that you can work on without cocking up the entire thing
If you liked that, you'll probably like Jericho as well!
Seriously how this guy gets to look so cherubic while giving off those sold-my-soul-at-the-crossroads vibes..
Ah, now I'm on a YouTube music binge...
John Fullbright - Satan & St Paul
Love the groove here, with the appropriate amount of bluesiness..

Been chatting music with a friend and covers came up.
So here's Steve Earle & the Dukes live, covering the Stones - Dead Flowers.
Love this version!

Think #Unity might have a bit of an issue with triggering particle systems (and possibly sound effects also) via mouse buttons. I want them to play while the button is held down, and stop when the buttons are released.
Not an expert by any means, but I've stripped my script right back to the basics and it's still triggering incorrectly.
I'll try and wrap my head around the new Input System, see if that's any better. Figure I should learn it at some point anyway.
Short version - I'm trying to make some effects trigger when nose buttons are held down. I'm using if{} statements with GetMouseButton and GetMouseButtonUp to start and stop particle and sound effects. Works perfectly for applying physic forces, decidedly iffy when applied to effects that use.stop and.play, eg particles and sound
Some stuff I just can't seem to figure out. Have in and asked on the #Unity forums, first time ever. Usually I can find what I need on tutorials and api docs and whatnot.
Had a convo with a work colleague today. Started innocuously enough, talking about places we been on holiday. Next thing I know it's heading into conspiracy theory territory. They believe that the whole "15 minute city" thing means people won't be allowed to travel more than 15 mins from their home.
Did point out that the concept has been used extensively throughout Europe for years already, but I think there's a lot of work to be done there still.
Will keep chipping away.
Managed to work on my game project a bit, culminating in a massive 10 hr coding/learning session today, punctuated only by a few tea and Swedish meatballs breaks. Haven't nerded out like that in years...
Anyway, got some enemy AI going, added some fancy visual effects and a bit of basic sound (though I'm still having some issues with that, hopefully I can sort it soon). Started work on adding shooty bits, too.
Felt productive.

After a bit of investigation into the death of my PC, I think it's just the CPU fan that's died, not the PSU. Originally, I thought none of the fans were working properly but, interestingly, it turned out to be an optical illusion - the others WERE spinning, but at a rate that made them look almost static π
I figure that means the PSU is probably fine so I've just ordered a new 150mm fan. Damn next day delivery cost almost as much as the fan itself, but I need it quick..
I mostly do nerdy stuff with computers and music
