Walked an hour to work, in the cold and rain, for a meeting just now, only to find out it'd been moved to online and I hadn't been copied into the email.

Some people might've been annoyed about that, but not me - I figure it's like getting to leave work early and grab a bottle of wine on the way back, with the added bonus that nobody's going to expect me to know what's going on.

I reactivated my #Twitter account a couple of days ago so I could leave a message saying I could be found on here.

Just struck me that a good side effect is that this way, Twitter has to bear the cost of storing years of my shitposts without getting my eyeballs on their ads.

Years ago, I started a degree in Youth & community Work. Never finished 'cos reasons but one bit from the start stuck with me, when my tutor said something along the lines of "you'll be trained to think critically and back up what you're saying with evidence. You should think about how that change may appear to other people, including family, and how you're going to handle it."

Talk about prescient.
