When a GC asks you, a trans person, what rights you don't have...they're counting on you not knowing. Katy Montgomerie has compiled a list of rights by country.

#TransRights and #TransHealth Care in the UK has been under a sustained, virulent attack from the Tory (Conservative) government, and organizations like LGBAlliance. It has become so bad there that the UK has now been placed with Russia and Poland for the extensive attacks on the LGBTQ+ community.

Here's another positive side-effect of using counter.social - it's freed up a lot of storage on my phone.
On #Twitter, because I was constantly arguing with dipshits about everything from vaccines to various forms of bigotry, I had loads of saved resources - memes, screenshots, articles, etc.
Haven't used any of them since I moved here, so I've just deleted them.
Change.org have announced an update to their petition, "Awaab's law - to prevent any more children dying from damp and mouldy social housing".
After seeing for himself the conditions in which Awaab's family and other residents are forced to live, Michael Gove has announced that he will try to get the law passed asap. Let's ensure that he keeps that promise: Read the update, share the #petition and sign it if you haven't already!

@MoreMeesThanMee Heya! 🙂
Proud Boys are coming here for a drag queen story hour. Makes me sick to my stomach. My god who knows what they will do. #lgbtq
I'm glad there's at least a tribunal into this. Shamima Begum still only 15 when she actually set off for Syria.
She was a child when her grooming started.
If anyone wants to argue with me about that, they can start by explaining if and why they think that child sexual grooming works differently to grooming by terrorists.

Walked an hour to work, in the cold and rain, for a meeting just now, only to find out it'd been moved to online and I hadn't been copied into the email.
Some people might've been annoyed about that, but not me - I figure it's like getting to leave work early and grab a bottle of wine on the way back, with the added bonus that nobody's going to expect me to know what's going on.
Glass is definitely half full (of wine)! 🍷🙂👍
I reactivated my #Twitter account a couple of days ago so I could leave a message saying I could be found on here.
Just struck me that a good side effect is that this way, Twitter has to bear the cost of storing years of my shitposts without getting my eyeballs on their ads.
Tempted to delete all my posts/replies and use Tweetdeck or similar to just automatically post "have moved to counter.social" several times a day
Had a sudden urge to listen to this again...

#HomeRecording gear check.
Currently I'm using:
- Tanglewood Rebel 4K bass
- Line6 Variax Standard electric guitar
- AKAI EWI USB
- Acorn Masterkey 49
- Line6 Pod Go
- Gear4Music Electro-classical guitar
- Neat Bumblebee microphone
- a MIDI electronic drumpad thing from Lidl
- Cakewalk Sonar
Not top-end stuff, but a decent enough setup for a hobbyist.
What I REALLY need is space - space to get it all set up properly so I don't have to go plugging and unplugging stuff before recording!
Sorry, I'm from the #UK. I know the media landscape here, the biases of various news outlets and whatnot, I'm less familar with the US. Is The New Yorker normally this dickish?
Actually, here's another f-ed up bit
"Chris Black, the co-host of the podcast “How Long Gone” and a prolific tweeter, argued that the people threatening to leave are merely virtue-signalling. “Being anti-Elon is more important to them than continuing to use a platform they enjoy,” Black said"
Supporting a person whose views you find abhorrent doesn't affect enjoyment? Would he say the same if Musk were a rapist or something?
This whole article is coming across as more than a bit sus now, tbh
Years ago, I started a degree in Youth & community Work. Never finished 'cos reasons but one bit from the start stuck with me, when my tutor said something along the lines of "you'll be trained to think critically and back up what you're saying with evidence. You should think about how that change may appear to other people, including family, and how you're going to handle it."
Talk about prescient.
That's been THE big issue concerning democratic politics over the last few years.
I mostly do nerdy stuff with computers and music
