USA Cosonauts: Could we take a break from the non-stop doom posting for just ONE day and celebrate the good things about our country?
It's suffocating, and I'm going to need to start using my tools on a lot more people if this keeps up.
@voltronic I really enjoyed this today.

I posted about yacht rock, sharks, and unruly geologists... 🪨
Not working for ya? 🤭
Upside - very few fireworks, cats are pleased.
ty i’ll contribute @voltronic
when neighbors have friendly conversations across their fence or across their yards!
Do it. I was mostly off social media for about a month and it was lovely. Will probably make it a regular thing.
@Cosmichomicide
I've never felt the need to do a social media time-out on CoSo before until these past several months. And I fear it's going to get much worse.
I think the SCOTUS decisions have been pretty traumatizing for anyone who isn't a low information voter. Venting is understandable.
As to getting worse, yeah. Probably.
And.... There go the fire trucks.🚒 💦🧨
Taking breaks is a useful tool. Highly recommend. 🔆
it is definitely getting to be way too much. It’s hysterical. Literally and helps nothing @voltronic
Full disclosure: I am sometimes guilty of same.
But in the end, every single time, my brain & thus my feelings, experience, and perception are always happier when the vibe is happier rather than more angry.
At the very least it is healthier to at least rack up 4 positives for each negative. It takes that ratio to outweigh the negative bias in our consciousness.
Process the upset rather than blasting it out, then return to tesiding in the positive.
Wooosah
I'm with you to an extent. I follow politics so that is my choice but I also take breaks when it just becomes to much. I try to be mindful of using # so people can filter. I also stay away from the firehouse but look once in awhile, lots of no # posts.
Good luck.
@voltronic As you know (all too well), there's a lot going on now in US politics. Folks feel the need to process, vent, and/or discuss. That doesn't necessitate that you read or respond. I've liked your posts and responded and look forward to more from you, but sometimes a break is in order. Personally, I've used the tools a bit in the last few months, with good effect for my experience, here and I encourage you to do the same. Filters are a wonder, mutes & blocks, too. I hope you find balance.
Honestly at this point I might peace out of here for a while because the doom posting seems to be most of the posts here nowadays.
I'd like to think the average Cosonaut here is pretty well-informed. No "low information" voters here, from what I've seen. That means all the doom posts are mainly serving to feed people's anger and fear rather than give them new information.
Just stop.
