i have a set of the Status. Comfortable, good sound, decent battery life, but they flat died after 6 months. used them, put 'em in the case to charge, and they never came back to life.

Any wireless headphones/buds will be held back in quality by the additional lossy compression of whatever Bluetooth audio codec is used. (Unless it's aptX lossless, which is rare.)
Get a USB-C adapter dongle and a good set of IEMs. Fortunately, you can now get very high quality for very little money:

I've heard those are great. I have ER4XR which I got on a big discount. The Etymotic triple-flange tips isolate as well or better than any shooting earplugs I've used. It's the only thing I can use while flying. Also useful for monitoring in the performance space for concert recordings.

they are great for flying, thanks to that design. must be nice to monitor with; it’s easy to fall into a well recorded performance listening to them.
