For those wondering why photos taken from a phone might be rotated incorrectly when posting:
CoSo strips all EXIF data while uploading (for your safety and privacy). Among other things, that data may include rotation info, and wiping that out may cause your photos to un-rotate. This is a known bug, on the list to be addressed down the line.
To correct in the short term, make a small edit to your photo of any type, save that copy, and upload again.
@voltronic love my pictures sides ways ^_^

No judgement here. Some of us still prefer old-school emoji. :-P
@voltronic I don't seem to have this problem. I just opened CoSo from Chrome and added it to my home screen instead of using the app to post pics.

@voltronic Thank you! now can you tell me how I posted another human’s super cute cat? that was embarrassing!

@voltronic I love the EXIF stripping and the anonymization of uploaded image filenames, but my phone is dumb and just mindlessly replaces earlier images with the same filename, making research on here harder. Effectively I have to do screen captures instead of just saving useful images.
Any chance we could salt image filenames with a random 8-digit number to reduce collisions in the namespace?
@wikisteff
That sounds like it's only a problem with your phone not prompting you to rename or overwrite files of the same name. Why don't you just manually change the file name when you're downloading?
@voltronic Phone doesn't prompt me or let me. My only option is overwrite or cancel.
I can check the settings...
@corlin has also posted about this recently, so credit to him for reminding us all about it.
