This is the other one, I almost posted. It seams to me that this also show cases that with very simple melodic, and harmonic rules, one can create a rich amount meaning.....
No I don't understand completely what he is doing here. I hear the repetition, the triads, and some of the step wise melodic structure.
What baffles me. Is the relationship of the text to the triads. Is this a hard rule in all his work ?
BTW this is much better listening with good speakers or headphones.

This CD with the Te Deum, Berliner Messe, and Magnificat was what initially got me hooked on his work.
The best interpretations I have found are from the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, or any Paul Hillier groups such as the Hilliard Ensemble.
As to his compositional style, I have a book written by Mr. Hillier I could recommended, but I just came across this Master's thesis which looks great. What you're asking about begins on pg 10.
