Calling all networking and media streaming experts!

I want to hear your thoughts on what it would take to set up true live-streamed virtual rehearsals and concerts involving over 100 musicians, with very low latency (say, under 1000 ms). We're going to need it, if we hope to make music together anytime soon.

I am envisioning something like Dante, which is popular in the pro audio market, but on a much wider distributed scale.

(I meant to type 100 ms there.)

To clarify, I am NOT talking about those virtual choir / orchestra videos you see all the time. Those are all separately recorded to a click track, and edited together later.

I am talking about true real-time musical collaboration with large groups. To my knowledge, this is not currently possible unless you have a fiber-connected private WAN.

^ Boosting this to hopefully get some ideas. I know there are people here who are experts in large-scale networking.

@voltronic My friends enrolled in band this term (and I daresay, their instructors) would absolutely love a workable solution to this modern problem.
