My so ln is still in ER, will be evaluated by psych and social work.
I'm hoping psych admits him. He has some undiagnosed physical and emotional issues.
They can't force rehab. Its voluntary unless court orders.. but they don't do that until sentencing.
We are not equipped to help control this addiction.
This is from 36 years later in my recovery. I will never forget their love to stand up to my disease, even before I could.
Do what you must to save his life, in case he finally might realize he needs to commit to saving it too
Hard choices in love are hard indeed. But they often pay off as the best of bets we can make

Sometimes, in addiction & mental health...you have to do the hard things for the ones you love. They break our hearts but the truest form of love is to do the things that give them a chance to live long enough to seek and accept the help they need.
Ask me how I know.
I was once in the same boat as your son. People stood their ground and got me to see that I needed help. They saved my life.
