What happened to this country that we are not united while facing our greatest enemy?
@kel i can't believe they are not aware of defending putin
@ucantstop_me I don't think they are. They're just parrotting what their sources tell them, which is that none of this would be happening if Biden weren't President.
Ask them why they're defending a murderous dictator, and they won't have an answer. It simply doesn't compute for them.
Now, there are those who know better. The right's influencers. Certain Republican electeds, but the average freedom-loving conservative*? They surrendered critical thinking long ago.
* Present company exluded.
@kel division puts the county at risk, it's what putin has been sowing here for decades
@ucantstop_me I say all the treasonous shit weasels that support putin can go live there —- we can take the Russian citizens that want to leave.
The GQP is really going to be shocked when their freedom’s are actually in peril…and when weapons are seized.
@ucantstop_me The "Republican Revolution" in 1994, courtesy of Newt Gingrich and friends, is what happened. Win at all costs, party over country, cooperative governance is a dead doctrine, etc. Combined with the launch of Fox News in 1996, the so-called "Falwell Tapes" that circulated at white nationalist events, etc. Unity is only for conservatives to attack liberals, cf. 9/11 and Iraq, "hating freedom", and the like.
@ucantstop_me I think the genesis of how we arrived at this moment begins with Obama. By most measures, he was a decent President. To oppose him, the right had to shred truth itself to cast him as a failure. It made them ripe for takeover by Trump, and here we are.
They've been so conditioned by partisan bias, that they aren't even really aware of what they're defending anymore.
