A lot of prenatal healthcare was being done by clinics that also performed abortions. Abortion laws result in a many of those clinics being shut down. Also in OB/GYNs leaving the state or changing their specialty.
As a result, in places like Texas, there's a shortage of care for pregnant people. And higher maternal and infant mortality.

Not to mention states that outlaw abortion also tend to have very little financial and social support for new parents.
If they really wanted fewer abortions, they'd do what's been shown to work:
Better sex ed
More access to contraception
Support for new parents
But what they really want is control
