I've been looking in at the writing and writer hashtags, and I'm wondering if on CoSo those are really meant for, well, real writers, writers meaning to publish.
I work out my demons, celebrate success or pass along hints, or problem solve with my writing. The product certainly isn't formal, more "informal".
Should I continue with my own hashtags so Cosonauts might look in at what I've written?
And maybe this is not writing, just posting on a website. Perhaps I've just posted.
Not sure.
Exactly this.
CoSo is still new enough and the community responsive enough that few of our hashtags are established.
You will generally get the best engagement by simply interacting with people and posting about your interests. However, if you use a hashtag somewhat consistently, people will begin to associate it with the kind of posts you include and they'll help others find you.

I actually found this post just now while making a queer/trans tag list to pin. It works!
Was watching Greater Boston tonight about there being no PRIDE parade again this year and the existing supervisory committee dissolving. It would appear there were exclusionary overtones to permit only certain PRIDE constituencies.
If you were posting, could a discussion of the above be graced by one of your hashtags?
Absolutely
I made up one hashtag to post about small things that can solve household problems or challenges. Niche stuff that maybe only I'm thinking about.
I've posted to #Satire (finding that the hashtag actually existed) but there aren't a lot of posts there. Since no one has said "NO! you can't post your writing there!" I guess I'll keep going.
Many thanks for responding.

For example:
I created the hashtags #transgendercoso, #queercoso, and #nonbinary
I'm pretty much the only person who uses them, but I have had others find me through them.
