Kyrsten Sinema, the first openly bisexual Senator in U.S. history, has been sworn into office.
By anti-queer Pence.
While swearing in on the constitution instead of a bible.
Absolutely.
Religious texts don't belong in our government or our courtrooms.
"your god is dead, and no one cares"
@tyghebright Agreed. While faith is a beautiful thing, not everyone feels that way. The should swear on the constitution they ate swearing to uphold. Derp🥴
@tyghebright I apologize for those asinine typos
@tyghebright this may be a frivolous point, but there are at least 22 versions of the bible. I want to be careful, you know?!
@Kitty62862 @tyghebright
In fact, the Bible specifically precludes swearing 'on' or 'by' anything and exhorts us to rather "Let your yes be yes, and your no be no".
@tyghebright OMG, I love everything about that!
@tyghebright this is the future I want.
@tyghebright And here I thought he looked uncomfortable because he was speaking to a woman.
That was only part of it!
@tyghebright She also looks like she could kick his ass.
And is ready to!
@tyghebright I like that. They should all swear on the constitution.
