@Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair No worries now.
Today, they’d give someone in death agony a couple of Tylenol to combat the deadly opioid addiction.
The pendulum always swings too far & suffering is at either end.

@carmahaz Yup!
My brother broke his foot b/c he fell intentionally on it to avoid falling on their little dog ad killing him, when he went to the e-room they all but called him a drug seeker for wanting pain meds.
He's an army trained RN supervisor who had worked the previous 10 years uninterrupted, STILL they looked at him like a junkie🙄

@Monty1234

@Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz a couple years ago, an old lady jumped into my lane from an oncoming lane to hit my vehicle head on. Once I got to the emergency room, they asked me if I "wanted morphine." (Implying I was there just for that purpose)

@JanetZumba_FalPals
It's just shocking to me. And there's a better way too. Like @UnTied says, Oxy is a very effective drug if they'd stopped designing it to wear off early so they can sell more, and designed it with the patient's needs in mind, I doubt anyone'd be in this mess who had taken it. You know, there'd be some, but not as bad as it's gotten, which makes everyone get treated like a "suspected drug seeker" first, "patient" second 🤷‍♂️.

My dad was a PA who worked with chronic pain patients and lost his license for over-prescribing opiods.

They didn't take into account that he was prescribing to people who have long-term pain, many of whom will never be rid of it.

Then there's me -- who has chronic pain that's not helped by opiods. I still get treated like I'm drug-seeking, but what I need are muscle relaxers and nerve pain meds.

Fortunately I live in CO.I use edibles at night. It helps a lot, but is very expensive for as much as I have to use. The oils did nothing unfortunately. Lidacaine works ever so slightly.

@tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair
Speaking of which, I take 9 mg of duloxetine (Cymbalta) each day as part of my shingles neuropathy treatment. I really dont know if it helps.

@UnTied @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals

I have gabapentin which I use as needed... which is an unapproved usage, and I can't tell if it helps, since sometimes my fibro pain only lasts a little while anyway.

Being in Texas, I don't fit the very narrow and complicated requirements to use CBD legally.

@tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234 @Usama_Backhair

So sorry. I didnt realize that Texas had any means at all to allow for consumption of Mari J. I use Gabapentin - the maximum allowable dosage... 1800 MG daily. It is the best maintenance med I have for the neuropathy.

@UnTied @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals

The only exception is if you're diagnosed with "intractable epilepsy", placed on a state registry, and prescribed "low THC" CBD by two physicians.

@Usama_Backhair Yes, with all the new peeps, J might have to work some magic.

@Usama_Backhair @carmahaz @Monty1234 @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright @UnTied Not really but I tend to dip in and out and catch up when I am here so it could be more noticable to you.

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright I worry about folks taking Gaba, that stuff seems to cause depression, does it work on your pain?

@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234
Yes. It is the only thing that I now for sure works for this pain. The others I should have the docs wean me me off the others just to see if there is a difference.

@UnTied
Yeah, make them keep tabs on the gaba intake and check in w/urself on how you feel, that stuff is nothing to fool with. From what I've heard.

@Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright

@Usama_Backhair @tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @carmahaz @Monty1234
I have prolly read the same scary stuff. That is one of the reasons I want to see if the other pain meds I take are even doing anything.

@tyghebright
I hated gabapentin when I was prescribed it. I hate most meds though. It made me shaky.

Non-invasive laser treatment and alternating hot/cold water therapy has served me well. I’ll do about four rounds each. Hot tub then cold dip until my heart rate comes down. Repeat. The heat feels like it opens up the blood vessels and the cold shrinks them and the overall effect on the surrounding nerves is good.

@Museek @Usama_Backhair @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright
Sounds like a lot of work. But if it provides relief? Hell yeah. Do yo go to the doc for that treatment?

@Museek
I got prescribed something similar and I stopped taking it after like 5 doses, , made me shaky, like you said, Only the shakiness was after I awoke the next day, nasty drug.

@UnTied @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright

@tyghebright @Museek @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @Usama_Backhair @InvaderGzim
We are wading into the afternoon hours and I am getting stupider as the day goes on!🤣

@UnTied @Museek @Monty1234 @carmahaz @JanetZumba_FalPals @tyghebright @Usama_Backhair

Just make sure that they warm their hands and instruments first...

That's all I'm sayin'...

@tyghebright @JanetZumba_FalPals @UnTied @carmahaz @Monty1234 that is crap, your dad’s plight 🙄 sorry to hear that. Really messed up. Sorry to hear about your pain,too 🤕 I’ve had very little personal experience with nerve pain, I hear it’s notoriously difficult
