@Coffee_and_Salt I splurge on a once a month cleaning service.
I have not regretted it once.
@Coffee_and_Salt @kmwarfield I am also spring cleaning, and I sweep the spider webs gently, and let them run back onto the wall to make a new, less dusty web. The family knows well to be nice to mommy's spiders, the older daughter doesn't like them much, but is less afraid. The youngest has gone from fear to love, right alongside me, and we catch the occasional jumper for pets, lol.
@Coffee_and_Salt @kmwarfield Geckos! Aaahhh! I want geckos doing insect patrol :(. We got one last year, the cool thing about carnivorous plants is they also draw the things that eat insects, lovely little thieves that hang out near my pots. Last year we had a treefrog hang nearby, and a ton of mantids. One single gecko, the only one I've seen in the wild here in Oklahoma (spent a lot of time in TX in my childhood, they were everywhere). Hoping the dogs didn't frighten him off the property.
@tippitiwichet @kmwarfield my favorite thing about geckos is making sure I leave the light on in the bathroom so I get to see their pale little underbellies on the window screen at night when the moths come. One night I counted 8. Could have been more but they were coming and going. I’d like them to leave my moths be but alas….
@Coffee_and_Salt @kmwarfield Awwwwe, gecko bellies ❤️
@tippitiwichet @kmwarfield spider love is the whole problem. I had to explain that to get those new webs we have to get rid of the old ones and they conceded. Where we live the spiders save you from every biting thing. Of which there are plenty.
But they’d gotten a bit out of control this winter. The geckos relaxed and the spiders took over the task.
