This may be a stupid question but are the hands and eyes connected in any way?
@Ubiety lol apparently I need to rephrase the question. I’m wondering if there’s any correlation between their movements, or if they’re entirely independent, which is more likely
It's still the same answer, honestly. Everything they do/sense is routed through the brain, so when someone is doing something like playing a video game, the eye registers something, and in a microsecond, the thumb responds.
But the eye only detects light and shadow, it doesn't translate that to an image until the signal reaches the brain.
The thumb just jerks in whatever direction the brain tells it to.
Neither of them are independent.
@Ubiety thank you
As others have said, yes - through the brain.
Spatial recognition (or whatever it's called) is how you can touch a finger to your nose even if your eyes are closed.
With your eyes open it's the brain that uses your eyes to interpret where to send your hands for whatever task you want to do.
@tiaugn
The brain.
You'll need a machete or a spoon to disconnect one from the others.
