It's still the same answer, honestly. Everything they do/sense is routed through the brain, so when someone is doing something like playing a video game, the eye registers something, and in a microsecond, the thumb responds.
But the eye only detects light and shadow, it doesn't translate that to an image until the signal reaches the brain.
The thumb just jerks in whatever direction the brain tells it to.
