Someone once asked me how I am. I told them “Oh, I’m throughly miserable.”
They looked sad for me, and said “Oh, I’m sorrry.”
I looked back at them, “Miserable is fine. I’m worried when I’m happy, I don’t know what to do with it and the tricks it plays. At least I know what’s happening with miserable.”
@EnochianEntropy Your own words, or a quotation?
Powerful stuff.
@EnochianEntropy You expressed it quite beautifully.
@stueytheround I’ve been told by more than a few people that I’m a fair writer.
@EnochianEntropy Misery or melancholy isn't all truly awful. Perhaps it helps us to better appreciate the happinesses we experience.
@stueytheround 😀I could do with a little less, though.
But hey, whatcha gonna do?
@EnochianEntropy Be a Goth?
@stueytheround Only if I’m burning Rome to the ground.
@EnochianEntropy There are lots of "Romes" that still need burning.
@stueytheround Yeah, well, as much as I want to burn it all down, I want something there to replace it. The Matt Gaetz of the world can Joker it up, but I want solutions.
@EnochianEntropy Not all Romes are big political issues, thankfully.
The fire of our passions can raze strongholds to the ground on a personal or local level, too.
@EnochianEntropy @stueytheround It's tempting for people to want to burn it all down and rebuild.
But I assure everyone, ashes make lousy material for building houses.
I've already seen that show - the one where you burn it all down. It doesn't create an enlightened age, just a bunch of rolling heads, and a new dark age.
@AskTheDevil @stueytheround It feels powerful, but it’s all sound and fury, signifying nothing.
At least when Khan burned down the Jin Empire, he built an empire that a small girl could walk from one end to the other with a bag full of gold without a hair being touched.
@stueytheround That being said “I welcome our lord and savior, goth chicks in fishnets.”
@stueytheround @EnochianEntropy
I swear that's young metal and cons face and lips.
Wow! Madeline Kahn thanks, translator.
Not bad given the topic.
@FireMonkey
I picked that picture because she reminded me of Emily aka Mouse, who redesigned Eleanor's wedding dress.
@stueytheround @EnochianEntropy
Stuey who is Emily? Who is Mouse and who is Eleanor and when did she get married? So many questions. 😝
@FireMonkey Heheh.
Eleanor @Mauve_matelot and I were married in August 2005 🤣
Emily/Mouse (pictured below in 2004) was in college learning dressmaking and offered to rework the Edwardian lace wedding dress Eleanor had found to make it unique to her.
@stueytheround Two days late to a Goth Girl post, but it took that long for the messenger crow to find me. 🖤
Sadly I can't post pics of exes because... well, it's not the done thing. But is there room for one more?
@BillyBones I think we can squeeze her in! @EnochianEntropy
@stueytheround Mine.
