Do “these” go bad? (no clue what the correct word is), lightbulb mount? Where ya stick a bulb in and PRESTO CHANGO let there be light!
Anyway, I put in a new bulb, flipped the switch and “POP” goes the bulb. Thinking it was a faulty bulb, I put another one in. “POP!” 🤬🤬
@see_the_sus Yeah we had something like that happen with the front porch lamp too. It hooks on with clamps like that, just a bit bigger and a hood around the socket. Every bulb that went into it, Pop, Crackle, Snap, every time. Went through at least four bulbs before we decided that it was bad and went to replace it. :<
grrrrrr!!! 😒
It's for my salt lamp and I've only had it for maybe five years.
Do you know what they're called so I can try to find one at a store without having to try to find an employee? 😏
@see_the_sus I wish I knew, I know that you can get salt lamp sockets off of amazon though!
ugh. I'll just have to go to Lowe's and take it with me. I'm not seeing anything on Amazon or anywhere else that matches the voltage & wattage that is on the inside of the socket.
I need to go there to get some fly catchers anyways.
@see_the_sus @PaganMother It's probably easiest to order one online than try to find one in a store. When I had to replace mine, I went to like 5 different stores with no luck. Went online, googled "salt lamp cord" and found a bunch.
I've just spent the past 1/2 hour looking online and haven't been able to find anything to matches the wattage or voltage or size of what I have. I'll have to take it to Lowe's when I pop over there to get some other stuff.
@see_the_sus
I probably would.
On a related but not related note, does anyone else love the sound little bulbs make when they bump up against one another? It reminds me of the sound that those glass vials, ampoules, make.
(just more weirdness from the Sus)
