I don't think even 10% of the population of this country has any idea what we're in for if Trump's wet dream -- an totalitarian government with him as dictator -- becomes reality.
My husband's parents were born & raised in Berlin. When they moved here in 1952 they brought all their paperwork with them. In addition to identity papers, they needed permits to travel between city districts in order to go to work. This applied to everyone. /1
Agreed, but there is a big difference between capitalism and totalitarianism -- at least in the early stages.
@Tee_Lynn @GhostsOfWar50 @publickovacs not that they're mutually exclusive

And I never said that, either. It's a good point.
@Tee_Lynn @GhostsOfWar50 @publickovacs yeah, sorry, didn't mean to imply that was a thing you said - I didn't read what you posted as such 🙂

Capitalism - To capitalize on a disadvantage, to exploit a weakness or shortcoming, to impose your will on another.
I rest my case your honor.
@publickovacs @Tee_Lynn Australia took a lot of migrants after WW2..A sad time for those having to find new homes yet most of the world was decent and welcoming. Like Jesus would do
The US wasn't so welcoming when people trying to flee Hitler's terror wanted to come here to be with family or just to be safe. Of course, we did provide Hitler with the perfect example for his oppressive policies -- the Jim Crow era.
@Tee_Lynn @publickovacs I believe Australia's Government was back then. That said people did cop racism as well. Sadly all new groups cop it, lately it's Sudanese
@publickovacs
The biggest advantage we have is the ability to prepare. Republicans won't see it coming.
When Musk announced he was going to crash the economy in order to 'balance the budget,' and normal people would suffer, he was being honest -- probably for the first time in his fucking entitled life.
They will burn the whole fucking thing to the ground and create a new type of government focusing on oppressing the poor for the benefit of the wealthy.
