I don't think even 10% of the population of this country has any idea what we're in for if Trump's wet dream -- an totalitarian government with him as dictator -- becomes reality.
My husband's parents were born & raised in Berlin. When they moved here in 1952 they brought all their paperwork with them. In addition to identity papers, they needed permits to travel between city districts in order to go to work. This applied to everyone. /1
Any cop or other official could stop anyone at any time and demand to see their papers. If you didn't have them, you would be arrested and interrogated.
Food was rationed. There were rolling blackouts. Coal was scarce, so people were cold in the winter. His parents went from young healthy adults to people who looked as if they were 20 years older by the time the war was over.
If you think that can't or won't happen here, you need to wake up.

I am in my fifties and I grew up in Hungary. When the Berlin wall fell, I was finishing high school and just got the right to vote. My late Dad and my Mom are WWII kids. I can confirm every damn thing in your post.
@publickovacs @Tee_Lynn Australia took a lot of migrants after WW2..A sad time for those having to find new homes yet most of the world was decent and welcoming. Like Jesus would do
