Been reading a good convo between @kel and @sfleetucker and it inspired me to post mantras:
*There is no war on Christmas because there cannot be
*Black ppl cannot be racist
*The US is not a liberal country
Happy to discuss any or all of the three.
As counter point to number two I present:

They exhibit bigotry and hate, as well as prejudice. Racism, however, relies on a large-scale societal context and institutions that support it. These folks' bigotry does not have institutional backing baked into the history of the country. Racism has resources, power, privilege, traditions and institutions perpetuating it. These folks' hatred doesn't have that.
