Before the shooting, the only thing Uvalde was known for was being the home of John Nance Garner. JFK called to wish Garner a happy 95th birthday on the morning of Nov 22, 1963. A VP to FDR.
@piquant00 It was mentioned in news reports in the hours before JFK's assassination. The town Uvalde didn't register with me until after the awful events of a few years ago.
