Huge thanks for all the responses to my post that I'm back and well! It's been truly heartwarming. I've always said there's no such thing as "just social media friends." Friends are friends! ❤️ 🐿️

As some of you know, my father was diagnosed with breast cancer back in March. Yes, male breast cancer. Get checked, guys!

It's rare, and usually very bad or fatal because nobody is looking for it, so it's detected late. Fortunately, Dad's was detected early and he is now 100% cancer-free! 🎉

@p3R1n01D oh no, I had no idea - but am just glad to see you here and now!!

@duglop
Thanks! Yeah, I kinda disappeared without saying much, kept thinking I'd get back soon. I hate to worry people when I don't know the situation, but it looked hopeful so I just waited until I had good news.

@p3R1n01D ❤️ wonderful , good to see you back!!

@Tattoomonkey29
Thank you! It's good to be back, and to see all my friends again! ❤️ 🐿️

@p3R1n01D ❤️ it's good to have you back and your presence was missed! I'm happy to hear things worked out!

@Tattoomonkey29
Thanks so much, it was really scary for a while! The result was almost too good to believe, I've known a lot of cancer warriors.

Glad we can get back to important stuff now! 🎉

@p3R1n01D ❤️ I'm a 2 time survivor myself ! Brain stage 3 29 years, lung stage 1, 7 months ! And yeah, there is totally far more important stuff to be doing ❤️

@Tattoomonkey29
I was thinking about you during Dad's ordeal, really gave me hope! ❤️

@p3R1n01D ❤️ I'm really glad of that and truly honored ❤️

@ACG2
Thank you, my friend! It was sort of miraculous, my head's still spinning. Sure is good to be back! ❤️ 🐿️

@BrazenlyLiberal
Thanks! ❤️ The whole thing came and went so fast, my head is still spinning. Just thankful it all worked out so well!

He had great doctors, and of course great support at home. We live together, partly in anticipation of things like this in his later years.

@p3R1n01D numbers.

Yes, it does go crazy fast. It seems a big life event like this should include a lot of contemplation and planning, but it's bambambam xrayCAT scanhospitalknife.

@BrazenlyLiberal
That was exactly it! Kinda like having kids, or choosing a career path. 😂

Dad barely even needed the heavy pain pills for 24 hours, then he switched to ibuprofen. Now he's back to mowing the lawn, at 80 years old! 💪 ❤️

@p3R1n01D @BrazenlyLiberal wonderful about your dad. We should all be doing so well at 80, glad you still have him. ❣️

@CinnamonGirlE @BrazenlyLiberal
Thanks! Yeah, he's a real treasure. ❤️ Don't know who I'd get to mow the lawn without him! 😉 I'm glad he stays in shape both mentally and physically!

@p3R1n01D @BrazenlyLiberal
That's why he does so well. Because he didn't just sit down. Enjoy your time with him. ♥️

@CinnamonGirlE @BrazenlyLiberal
Every minute! Even when he's a grumpy old fart. 😉 ❤️

@p3R1n01D

The lawn? Really? When he's done at your place, ours is a little shaggy.

That's impressive!

Now I feel like a lazy slug.

@BrazenlyLiberal
Thanks, I'll tell him you said so! I can tell it bothers him that he can't do things he used to do, but I remind him he's doing a lot more than a lot of guys his age. 💪 ❤️

Lazy slugness is allowed, that's what mid-summer is for!

@p3R1n01D

He's doing more than guys I know who are 15 and 20 years younger. Absolutely true,.

@p3R1n01D glad your Dad is recovered! Did they suggest genetic testing?

My mom had breast cancer and now both her sisters as well. She & I both did the testing but it was inconclusive. The counselor though said with the history, it’s likely genetic and they just haven’t discovered the gene yet.

@AverageCitizen
Thank you! ❤️ 🐿️

Yikes, that's scary for you! For me, they did do genetic testing, and said it's not genetic. One less thing for me to worry about!

I think it's awesome that they can do that kind of testing now, cancer care and prevention really has come a long way!

@p3R1n01D So happy for you that your dad is now cancer free, and welcome back. You were missed! ❤️😊

@Christmas_Snow
Thank you so much! ❤️ 🐿️ It really is something to celebrate, and I think it improved his attitude about turning 80.

It's so heartwarming to know I was missed! I missed you and the others, too! 🤗 😊 🐿️

@Vikky
Thank you! ❤️ 🐿️

My pleasure sharing it, I think others can benefit from it. The things others have shared in the past gave me hope when things were dark and murky.

@p3R1n01D

What great news! So happy for your dad - and you.

@ATXJane
Thank you! ❤️ 🐿️ I've been telling him about all the wonderful responses, it's awesome to see how many caring friends I have! His recovery was somewhat miraculous, couldn't have gone better! 🎉

@p3R1n01D

Glad you're back. Sorry your dad had to go through that ordeal, but relieved he's on the mend. Thank you for emphasizing the need for men to be vigilant regarding male breast cancer. The stigma surrounding it needs to end.

@fugitive247
Thanks, buddy! ❤️ 🐿️ Yeah, it was pretty scary at first! I was worried he'd have to go through chemo, and I've had friends go through it. Luckily, surgery alone got it, and he didn't even need follow-up radiation! 🎉

Yeah, guys need to hear about male breast cancer. I think most of us don't even know it's possible. That's why it's so often fatal. Early detection means easy treatment!
